"Wild Lily" Authentic Celadon Glaze Porcelain Gaiwan with Strainer, Large
Free US shipping on orders $75+ after discounts.
The "Wild Lily" gaiwan is a lidded cup of authentic celadon-glazed porcelain, finished in a cool, "rain-washed" sky blue. A lily is carved into the lid beneath the glaze, and it shows as a faint relief when the light catches it.
Unlike a classic gaiwan, this set comes with a porcelain filter basket that sits inside the cup. The leaves stay in the basket, so when the steep is done you simply lift it out and the tea never over-brews. It is a forgiving way to brew loose-leaf oolong, green, white, black and herbal teas, whether as one generous cup or as a series of short gongfu infusions.
Glazed porcelain is smooth, neutral and non-porous, so it never takes on flavors from one tea to the next, and it heats and cools quickly. To care for it, rinse with hot water, wash gently by hand if needed, and let it air-dry. It arrives in a gift box.
