From the first pour, the aroma is deeply comforting with notes of caramelized sugar, cocoa, baked pear, and warm forest honey rise from the cup with a gentle charcoal warmth. Beneath the roast is the unmistakable freshness of a high mountain tea, where sweet minerality keeps every infusion vibrant and balanced.

First up is this Spring 2026 harvested organic Wild Mountain black tea from Taiwan - beautiful full leaves with a delicate fruity fragrance when dry, and hints of warm cinnamon-apple oatmeal when steeped. The tea soup is clear and smooth, with a wild honey taste and amber color, malty and sweet, like a Hawaiian roll in a cup. A definite keeper! Can't wait to try the rest and happy to be a new customer!”

Tea stung by a bug?
This oolong is called "bug-bitten": its leaves were bitten by a small cicada, cousin to the hippopotamus and the cicada, called Jacobiasca formosana. She doesn't chew the leaf: she pierce it with her tongue to suck the sap.
It's this shot that changes everything. It triggers a stress reaction in the plant, which begins to produce particular aromatic compounds (including terpenes). It gives a strongly oxidized oolong, with naturally honeyed, caramelized and fruity notes - without any added sugar.

This is the style of tea that is found as Oriental Beauty, originated from Taiwan.
Just by the smell of the wet leaves, you can already smell something incredible. In my mouth, I clearly find a sandblasted and buttery pastry, like an apricot pie.
Caramelized sugar is pretty present too, very tasty, with maybe a hint of almond. We really feel like we're drinking cake.
