The Beansprout celadon tea set is a compact porcelain tea service glazed in a soft, glossy blue-green Song dynasty-style celadon. It includes a teapot with a curled handle and a bean-shaped lid knob, plus two cups with matching saucers. Its rounded, bean-inspired forms make it a perfect tea set for two. It arrives in a satin-lined luxury gift box from Anta Pottery, ready to give.

The 160 mL (5.4 oz) teapot brews green, oolong, black, white, or aged tea, and the 50 mL (1.7 oz) cups suit small, concentrated gongfu-style pours. The pot has a built-in strainer in the spout, and each cup sits on a saucer with a small bean-shaped foot. Brew, pour, and everyday tea time becomes something more luxurious.

About celadon glaze

Celadon is one of the great glazes of Chinese ceramics, and the pale jade-like celadons of the Song dynasty (960-1279) are still considered a high point of the art. The color comes from a trace of iron in the glaze, and it only develops when the kiln is fired in a low-oxygen "reduction" atmosphere. Even a small change in temperature or atmosphere can turn the glaze muddy, yellow, or brown, so a clear, even blue-green is very hard to achieve. The glaze recipes and firing methods are closely guarded kiln trade secrets, which is why authentic celadon of this quality is rare and difficult to source.

How to verify authenticity: every genuine piece carries the maker's mark. This set comes in a box marked Anta Pottery (安達窯), since 1976, as shown in the product photos.
