Tea from China's great tea provinces
China has made tea for thousands of years, and each province has its own styles. This collection gathers small-batch teas from two of the most celebrated: Fujian, home of Wuyi rock oolong and white tea, and Yunnan, the mountainous southwest where tea trees grow wild and old.
What's inside
- Fujian: Shui Xian "Water Spirit", a Wuyi rock oolong with a deep mineral "rock rhyme" and charcoal-roasted notes.
- Yunnan: Moonlight Beauty white tea, Yunnan Imperial yellow tea and the naturally purple Beauty of Yunnan black tea.
Between them they cover four different kinds of tea, which makes this a good way to taste how processing changes a leaf.
Questions
Are these teas organic?
Yes, the teas in this collection are certified organic.
How do Chinese and Taiwanese oolongs differ?
Taiwan's oolong tradition grew out of Fujian's, so they share roots. Taiwanese oolongs are often rolled into tight balls and lean floral, while Wuyi rock oolongs are long, twisted and roasted. Compare them with our Taiwanese teas.
